That's right. Today is the day when sticklers unite to discuss the
merits of the semicolon and diagram sentences. I just wanted to take a
moment to salute my fellow English majors, copy editors and general
grammarians. I'm even giving a nod to the obsessive souls who correct
misspellings and poor punctuation in bathroom stall graffiti.
The Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar, or SPOGG, has compiled a Bad Grammar Hall of Fame playlist for your listening (dis)pleasure on this special holiday. I may have to listen to it tonight while I dust off my copy of "Eats, Shoots & Leaves." |
