SGT.SCHUYLER B. PATCH

From the editorial page…let’s keep his memory alive in print a little longer……

Our war on terror claimed its 20th Quad-City region soldier, and remembrances are flooding memorial Web sites.

Sgt. Schuyler B. Patch, 25, of Kewanee, Ill., is remembered as “a good card player and a great all-around guy,” in a post from a fellow soldier he’d met in Afghanistan. “We spent holidays playing cards in the Boar’s Head chow hall to pass the time. On Friday, we would climb to the top of the nearby mountain that looked over the city.”

Another soldier remarks, “He was a good guy and liked to make the best of the situation.”

Thank You for all of your support. Schuyler was my cousin, and let me say is now my hero! It was a pretty awesome reception on the route from the qc airport to Kewannee high. Thank you to all of our service members for your support and bravery, Past and present!
