Hello, Quadsville!

It's the start of a new week and it comes with a new look for the Quad-City Times. You can read Editor Steve Thomas' blog post about the changes we've made to the print edition and give him your feedback here.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's impeachment trial starts today. Still not a good enough reason for Blago to show his face in Springfield. He's out in New York appearing on "Good Morning America," "The View" and "Larry King Live." You can follow @Illinois_Stage on Twitter for live trial updates. Kurt Erickson will also be blogging here in Quadsville.

What do you think of the layoffs at John Deere. More than 500 workers at the plant in Brazil will be fired. About 190 workers in Davenport will be laid off or temporarily reassigned. I guess I just keep thinking that it could have been the other way around and I'm glad it's not. How about you?

Because of POLITICS our white elephant is still closed after 8 years.I'm talking about our State-of-the-art Prison in Thomson,Illinois.
We should just change it to a Federal prison and fill it with all the Arabs from Gitmo!We've got nothing to lose.

I like the new look of the Times! Many of the people I worked with liked it too. It's easy to read and of course easier to hold on to.

I read the classifieds for the fist time...in months...that's where you are hiding the comics, Annie's mailbox, and the tv guide. You sly dogs.... :)

I miss the quadsville quotes though...it was always fun to see who'd get picked...and if I missed the blog I'd go back to read it.

My mom and dad HATE the new TIMES. I think it is ok. But they told me they are going to end their subscription.
