Weekend Poll: What is your favorite Festival of Trees event?
Posted by: Mayor Melissa on November 20, 2009 at 1:36PM CST
It's here. Festival of Trees has begun, bringing back Quad-City holiday favorites and adding some new events and attractions. Whether you've been attending for decades or are checking it out for the first time, let us know what part of Festival of Trees you enjoy the most.

I once volunteered to monitor a small group of elementary school kids on a visit to the Festival. No cell phones back then and we were downstairs - my group and I - eating milk shakes while the others were loaded in the bus and teachers looking for us.
The kids got a scolding, the shakes got tossed and I didn't volunteer the following year, figuring I'd caused enough grief requiring a search party the year before.
The trees are beautiful. The refreshments were good.

I can't vote. There's no "when it's over" choice.

Can we vote for the one where the balloon parade never happens again? :) That would be my favorite.

I had to try and go to the downtown Davenport yesterday for the farmers market to pick up food for my dogs. When I made my way over there traffic was backed all the way up to the Illinois side! I had no idea!

This was my first year going to the festival. I've never been to the balloon parade, but I have had those @#%& moments trying to go somewhere in or near downtown when it was going on and I forgot to avoid that part of town. Gwen & I had fun at the festival. I'll try to post a blog with some pics later today.

It was no fun looking for a parking spot. I was supposed to meet up with my family at Warren St., had to go all the way to Ripley and park in the ramp, watch from there.
The marching band from BHS did a nice "Joy to the World!"
