Question of the Day: Which Super Bowl ad was your favorite?
Posted by: Melissa C on February 8, 2010 at 3:20PM CST
Anyone else think it was an off year for Super Bowl ads? Not a lot of truly memorable, pop culture shifting spots last night. Thank goodness the game was great, especially the second half.

MediaCurves.com surveys thousands of people online during the game about their reactions to Super Bowl ads and then ranks them on their site. You can find their list here (and watch any commercials you missed).

Which ad was your favorite? The choices below reflect the top six ads according to MediaCurves, plus the ad I've heard the most about at the water cooler and on Twitter. And if you were wondering how that Letterman spot came to be, the New York Times has the answer.

After you vote for your favorite, tell us what the worst commercial was. For me, it's a toss-up between all the Denny's spots with screaming chickens (although you can bet I'll be getting a free Grand Slam tomorrow) and all those E-Trade commercials with the talking babies.

I voted for Letterman's spot, which I bet was Dave's idea, by the way. I also disliked the Denny's ad -- mostly because the chickens' squawk was so obnoxious. I liked the Budweiser horse/bull choice quite well, and that style is usually one of my favorites every year. Google also had a good ad, about a man looking for love in Paris.

I didn't especially like the ads for the films, except the Tim Burton. I don't envy Linda Cook the job reviewing most of what I saw.

I'm surprised the Career Builders wasn't rated higher with the casual day ad. I mean so often you hear people talk about dreams where they are naked in a crowd of clothed people and here's this guy really finds himself clothed among office mates in underwear. Hilarious!

I liked Letterman/Oprah/Leno.
I thought most of the beer commercials (Bud lite?) were incredibly stupid.

One of the best, I thought, was the Google ad, very smart and you never forgot who the ad was about.

There have been many very funny and clever ads in the past, after which I couldn't tell you what product the ad was selling.

I also thought there were too many people in underwear.

I missed the Doritos hands off ad because I had to work until 6....but when I got home my five year reinacted it for me....he cracked me up...so it must have been funny.

That was Google's first ever major TV ad, I heard. At our party, the Cars.com commercial had people intrigued. So did the Dodge Charger spot. But I think the talkers are the Snickers, Doritos and Dave commercials.

I thought the hands off was not cool, no need to encourage violence is there?

yes alert, and the betty white snickers commercial encourages tackling the elderly...

And why did Tebow have to tackle his mother?

I love the E-trade babies! I had to work during the game, but did pop my head in every once in awhile to catch a few commercials.

I only saw one betty white commercial where she was getting tackled. It was kind of funny but not the funniest thing ever.

I always love the beef jerky commercials where the guys are pissing off big foot. And the old cave man commercials were funny until they got a new one.

Were either of those played?
