Christmas projects
Posted by: Stephanie De Pasquale on December 24, 2008 at 1:35PM CST

For Christmas I made my fiance a queen-sized Illini quilt and five quilted table runners for other family members. I've been quilting nonstop for a month it feels like to get it all done.

I still have to hand quilt the outline of the chief into six large squares of fabric, but it's done enough to wrap up and give to him for the holiday. It's my first large project so I'm pretty excited about it. Before this I've only done baby blankets for friends who were expecting. You can see pictures of it in the group's photos.

What projects have you all been working on for the holidays?

Not this year, but a previous one, I made a quilt for my husband's granddaughter. I made blocks from his jeans, his mother's table cloth, and his grandmother's bedspread. It was the largest quilting project I've ever done. It wasn't perfect, but it was good. With all that sentiment I figured it might forgive some of the flaws.
