If you are brave enough to venture out this weekend there is fun to be had in the QCA.  For us parents looking at a four day weekend you might want to check out these free or inexpensive things to do with your kids before they drive you crazy!

The Bob the Builder exhibit is now open at the Family Museum... admission to the museum is free one Monday a month.  See my first blog for details. Regular admission is $6 for 2-59, and $4 if you are 60 and up.  The Family Museum's number is 563-344-4106.

Kids Craft Day at the John Deere Pavilion in Moline.  Sat. Jan. 17th from 10-4pm.  FREE.  The theme is of course, snow.  Contact 309-765-1000 for more info.

How old is Winnie the Pooh?  Find out Sun. Jan. 18th from noon to 3pm at the Moline Public Library's birthday party for this silly old bear.  Crafts, games, and refreshments and you'll be warm and it's FREE.  Contact 309-762-6883 for more details.

How old is Edgar Allen Poe?  The Bettendorf Public Library is hosting a party for him on Jan. 19 at 6:30pm.  Cake, musical entertainment, and it's all free.  If you go tell the Raven I said hello.  The Bett Public Library number is 563-344-4175.

Got some warm socks?  The Quad Cities Bicycle Club is hosting a 1 1/2 - 2 hour hike starting at Camden Park in Milan at 1 pm on Jan. 18th.  Contact 309-738-9900 for more info.  Dress for the weather they say....bring a battery powered personal heater I say.  It's free....I'd join you but uh, I have to wash my hair, and clean out my junk drawer, and uh, organize my socks.  I'm just not a hearty pioneer woman.  Indoor movies are more my speed...like.....

Family Movie time at the Scott County Library in Eldridge.  Jan. 19th at 1 pm.  Movie will be PG, computer animated and popcorn is provided.  It's FREE, just bring your own drinks and something comfy to sit on. Call for movie title, they aren't allowed to disclose it in the paper for licensing reasons.  Their number is 563-285-4794.
