What’s the greatest thing that ever happened to you?
I graduated from college('93), got my first grown-up job('94), traveled to China ('95), met my husband on the internet('96), and became a mom('99). I guess you could say the 1990's were a good decade for me.

What else do you want people to know about you?
I like politics and scrapbooking. I love my dogs and I'm slowly getting into gardening. I can also roll a quarter off my nose and into a shot glass. Not a very marketable skill but it was a great icebreaker in college.

It does take a village but the parents have to want the help of the village. Many times they only want the help once the child has gotten to a crisis point. It's sad...really sad.

I know the boy's Aunt and she is worried sick about them. The whole family is. I hope they are safe, and that when they've changed their minds and decide to come home they know they can. You can always come home.

I think ours went up because we use a small company out of Iowa City. I like the idea of using smaller locally owned companies..but in this case it bit us in the behind! We will shop around for next year. No mansion..just standard middle class house in Bett with three crazy, lick your face kinda dogs. :)

This is standard practice. I mean our homeowner's insurance went up $250 this year because of "flooding". Never made a claim, never had water near my house...but because I live in Scott County I get to pay for everyone who did flood and make a claim.

The school district handled this well. The lock down happened at 10:44 am but we weren't notified until almost 3 pm because they knew we'd all rush the school. The assault happened closer to Norton, far from the High School. Hoover and Paul Norton were the schools closest to the assault. This makes me think about locking my doors more often. Most of us don't in Bett, in the middle of the day, because we feel so safe. Not letting my kids walk home from school alone either.

He was my neighbor. It was a heart attack. It took so long to find him because his wife is out of town and was frantically trying to find him and had called us to know if we had seen him. He was a wonderful person to know.

Although there is no criteria that says the nominee has to have judicial experience...all the current Justices have served on the U.S. Court of Appeals. It would be difficult to get someone confirmed without a record....aka Harriet Miers.

Clinton lost his license, has been disbarred by the Supreme Court, and has the judicial review of a hamster. Yeah...he'd make a great Justice.

Our district is living within it's means which is something all public entities should do. I'm proud of our district, our leadership, and our teachers who are amazing. If the sub rate is 150 a day sign me up! I think it's closer to 90.
