I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs, went to school at Augustana College and stayed in the Q-C after graduation to work at the Quad-City Times. My job is to cover anything teenagers through people in their 30s would find entertaining. In my free time I treat my three dogs like children.

Any journalist worth his/her salt would pick up the allegations recently made and publish their findings. Unfortunately, this is just one more example of an organization CSZ has in their back pocket, contributing to the boys' club mentality which I alluded to earlier. I expected more from the Quad City Times as a respected news leader, but I also was well-aware of the connections that media outlets/theatre groups establish with each other, and unfortunately, this results in biased results such as this."
Your comment was deleted because it contained several defamatory claims about ComedySportz that were not backed up by evidence.

A reporter is working on an update and should have it ready before the end of the week. And let's keep the discussion civil. There's no need for name calling.

Hey guys, let's stop the back and forth bickering and discuss the substance of the article.

Where would we be without taxes?

cofinley1 - I understand. I spent a whole day edging the yard along the fence line to get the weeds out of the few inches between our fence and the neighbors. My dad warned that I had to take a spade on the neighbor's side of the fence too, otherwise the weeds would grow back from their side. But I don't know them too well, so I just let it be and now there is clover growing back in between the fences. But at least clover doesn't grow too high, so it shouldn't be so bad.

Tuffy - I wrote that the program is free in the first sentence of the article. scott - That's interesting, what energy saving product did you submit for a rebate? Our energy consultant specifically told us the rebate for insulation would come as a discount on our bill over the next three years. SquishyPBJMom - You make a good point. I'll have to look at the fine print in our home warranty. We have a pretty efficient furnace, it's just 25 years old, and isn't nearly as good as the models they have out today.

I spent more time in this building than I did in the dorms when I was in college at Augustana. It will be nice to see it updated and hopefully future student newspaper editors won't sweat to death in the winter in basement office when it's all done. :)
dubhlaoich said: ""...poor pit bull"? Those words don't go together. Now that the dog was rescued let it remain as a pet of the Humane Society. Pit bulls are killers."
Dubhlauich - Dogs are a product of their environment, not their breed. I have a foster dog right now that was seized by police because she was abused and neglected. When she first came to my house she was scared, and showed it by snapping every time she came near my other dogs or when I tried to pick her up or wipe her feet. After some training using positive reinforcement to help her associate their dogs and humans with good things, she is now a happy little dog that constantly wants to be in a lap and enjoys playing with my other dogs. People are responsible for a dog's good or bad behavior, not the dog's breed.

We might benefit from one of those catches. I've got pretty long hair and so do our dogs which get frequent washings in the tub. But what grosses me out about our clogged drain was not pulling out the clog of hair, but pulling out a clog of someone else's hair since the clog was there when we moved in.

I don't know. It's possible, but he's taken down some trees, stumps and all. I don't think that kind of expensive project is a common one for people that are flipping a house.
