I'm honored to serve as Quadsville's first mayor. Many of you know me as the "comments lady" who writes a column for the Saturday Editorial Page in the Quad-City Times about the discussions happening on QCTimes.com. Quadsville is an extension of the relationships and debates begun on QCTimes.com. I look forward to watching our community grow and learn from each other.

cj13: I think famoffive left out one important word - "night." This person didn't say they were glad it happened. They said they were glad it happened at night so the kids didn't see it.

November 24, 2009 I know this is a topic that gets people riled up, but the name-calling and stereotyping need to stop on all sides. Several comments have been removed from this stream. If you keep picking at each other, you're likely to have your commenting privileges removed. Deep breath....

November 16, 2009 My apologies to the courteous members of this online discussion group. PF and Old_timer84 have both been banned repeatedly and are somehow finding a way back into our system. My advice until we can permanently remove them is to refrain from interacting with them and to report any posts that break our Rules of the Road.

October 30, 2009 We have had several people report the comment by County Attorney thinking that someone was pretending to be the County Attorney. We have spoken with Scott County Attorney Mike Walton and have confirmed that "County Attorney" is, in fact, his account and the comment was written by him. No imposter. This is the real deal. But thanks for your watchful eyes.

August 17, 2009 This story is part of a larger series called The State of Marriage. All couples involved in the project gave their consent to be involved and knew that their discussions with reporters were on the record. Kay Luna was up-front with Ms. Harding about what pieces she was including in the story and reemphasized to her several times that this would be shared in print and on the World Wide Web.

August 17, 2009 Just1 - I'm one of several moderators. Jim Gale used to be the public "sheriff," so to speak, when he worked here. Now I get the badge. :-)
76 & iaatty: I think the truce idea is a good one. Feel free to report each other when you think it's crossed the line and let us deal with it. It'll keep both of you out of trouble.

March 13, 2009 Just a reminder, everyone.... We all have our opinions, so let's disagree respectfully. No need to make menacing comments directed at other posters who see things differently than you. Personal attacks and name calling are not allowed. Thanks.
