Fannie's Closet opened August of 2009 in the Pierce School mall in the Village of East Davenport. We only carry handmade items because we believe they are better for everyone involved. Handmade delivers better quality, better ethical standards in business, supports independent artists and business owners, and is something unique!
We offer the following items as well as some odds and ends: women's clothing, accessories, jewelry, bath and body items, children's clothing, organic items, toys, baby items, and custom made/one of a kind items.
We are also looking to carry: visual artwork of all mediums as well as music from local artists in the Quad Cities. Let me know if you'd like to meet to discuss!

This would be great for the Quad Cities! When I lived in Hampton, Iowa and RAGBRAI came through it was fun for everyone and the local businesses loved it!
It seems like the East Village would be a great point to end the race. There's Lindsay Park and the Channel Cat (so those from IL who want to join in the fun have an easy way over!) that could easily be utilized as well as all the shops, bars, and restaurants that I'm sure would help in the effort.
Events like this are great for families and people of all ages...regardless of your personal feelings about sharing the road with bicyclists this is a huge event in Iowa and a positive one!

A lot of businesses also give coupons out when you shop and right now a lot more are going this route instead of putting them in a print ad because the economic times are rough for them too. So shop local and see what local businesses are offering :)
